This may look like a silly question....

Does a MOSFET allow bidirectional flow of current ?
I'm not referring to the intrinsic diode, but at the drain-source junction.

A Mosfet variably adjusts its current in one direction. It has a built-in diode that conducts when the drain-source voltage is backwards.

Yes, of course. Provided that it is turned fully ON by applying sufficient voltage to the gate.

Yes, I know.

The intrinsic diode will allow current flow in one direction even if the MOSFET is NOT turned ON. However, then it has a standard diode drop of about 0.6V. If the MOSFET is turned ON by applying gate voltage at this moment, the 0.6V drop between source and drain will be reduced further, depending on Rds.
