Dear all

i put together a home sound system that i patched together from all sort of theifted parts. At last i need to connect my subwoofer to my amp. And heres the deal:
My Amp only has left/right speaker outputs and no mono or subwoofer specific ones. So i was wondering if i could split the speaker wire from each pole (the + and -) into two ends, so that I can connect them to the left and right side outputs of the amp. So then my subwoofer wont just work with one but with both channels.
Do you think this could work? Is there anything i need to watch out for?

thanks in advance :)

Certainly you can connect the subwoofer speaker to one side of the left channel and one side of the right channel and it will not cause any damage. BUT you will not be getting the "subwoofer" sound that you want. You will be getting the center channel.
To get the sound that is intended for the subwoofer, you need that signal from the amplifier or the program source.
