"His mathematical analyzes produced better predictions" should probably use the word "analyses" instead of "analyzes"

 

I would tend to agree, but isn't this the US spelling of the word?

"analyze" is a verb, but it's being used as a noun in the given sentence;
"analysis" (plural "analyses") is a noun.
I think "analysis" (singular noun) is intended here, but it could be plural.
BTW, the word "analyzes" appears incorrectly twice in the sentence.

From reading the quote again I am of the opinion that it we are looking at the singular of the word 'analysis' in the first instance and the plural of the word in the second instance, 'analyses' or 'analyzes'. The question then is, is the word spelt with an 's' or a 'z'?

From:

To:
His mathematical analysis produced better predictions of experimental events than analyses belonging to previous models,

Above, first instance singular; second instance plural due to last word "models".
