Usually I design analog stuff, mainly music synthesizers and recording studio gear.
The design I'm working on is my first synth controlled with a SoC and involving I2C parts, so I'll ask other silly questions !

Keep in mind the XIAO is small and cheap, you could use two and have one handle the communications if 32K/256K is not enough for your code.

If the XIAO is not enough, I'll use a bigger SoC... :-(

 

The XIAO RP2040 has 264K of SRAM and 2MB of flash.
