How do I splice a 2 wire (red/green) TSR connector with a 4 wire (red/green/black/white) USB cable? I'm trying to download data from and Abbott Blood/Glucose Monitoring Meter to a PC. Any assistance will be appreciated.

What makes you think that the signal levels and protocol will be compatable between the USB and your device ?

Les.
Thanks Les. The BG monitor has a PC function and should be compatible as it is listed with this accessory. I'm trying to save some $$$ and make my own. Can you help?

What about the IC that is moulded into the USB plug ? Do you know what this IC is and how to connect it?
Les has brought up an important point. The commercial cable has an embedded controller inside. It won't work by splicing your two cables together.

The product description explicitly states that there is a smart controller embedded in the USB connector housing.
