Machine phase voltage drop when lights turned on

Hi,

first time post, so hopefully I have done it right, we have a machine at work that has 2 fluro's on a single circuit (only thing on that phase) but when they are switched on the voltage drops to 0V, remove the fluro from the circuit and it produces full voltage. I have tried other fluros and the same thing happens, had placed it on another phase and the same thing happens...

any suggestions would be appreciated

Cheers
Steven

Where are you measuring the voltage?
The lights won't work with 0V so something is wrong with your measurement.
that's what I am saying, there is full voltage on switch when in the off position and when it is switched on and the lights are in circuit the voltage drops to 6V sorry not 0

It appears that you are measuring on the low side of the switch; when the switch and the lights are ON, then there is no more voltage available to measure--it is consumed by the drop across the lights.
