Is there a way to copy and paste tex-style math formatting direct into a thread. I wrote something with mathematical notation in lyx and when I try to copy and paste it into a thread it won't show up. It would be useful if you were working out something long and ran into trouble so could just paste it into a thread, instead of having to write out all your workings again with the embedded latex editor.

 

Put the mathematical statement between tex and /tex tags.
PS:there should be brackets at each side of the two tags.

Correct, the solution is to switch to the standard editor where you can paste in \( commands. We also have a TEX editor which is accessible from the Sigma command in the formatting toolbar above the post reply area.
