Checked Google - found repeating message players, but they didn't include a clock or timing device. I just need something that can play a short recorded musical passage at 6 PM everyday. Any others with ideas???

You could set the 30 second clip as an alarm ringtone on your phone? I think android and iOS have tone limits of around 30 seconds.

 

There is a shield for the Arduino that can play MP3 files stored on a mini-SD card. It is called the Adafruit Music Maker. I made a device that plays various sounds/messages at various times with this shield, an Arduino RTC and an Arduino.
