Hi all,

I'm looking for advice in building the skill set required for a flinging career. I am currently employed in the aerospace sector doing cost takeout work and find myself drawn to the controls and systems side of things. The opportunity for doing this kind of work is limited but I take it when possible. I would like to develop my skill set involved system design, DSC, PLC, Industrial drive systems.

With a degree in electrical engineering with a heavy focus on embedded systems (nearly computer engineering) what can I be doing to make myself marketable towards industrial control jobs? Would online classes be considered useful? What kind of affordable hobbies would provide experience with PLC and similar systems?=

I appreciate any personal stories on what has been successful or a challenge in your own self developments.

Thanks,
