hi everybody,
i am new to this forum,
a mechanical engineer who works as a tour guide but in my free time trying to develop some stuff.

i am looking for a circuit scheme but do not know how it should be called.
(my mother's language is not english)

the circuit should act like this :

1. there is a DC source that varies between 9V to 12V (3v dynamo + 9v dc battery)
2. there are 4 bulbs.
3. i wish to light 1 bulb if the voltage is 9V.......
light 2 bulbs @ v=10V, light 3 bulbs @ v=11V, light 4 bulbs @ v=12V.
4. it should probably consist of diods and/or transistors.

thanks ahead for the help.

You want a bar graph. It is easy to do with a LM339 comparitor, if all you want is 4 lights. If you want more then you probably want to use different chip (part number escapes me at the moment).

Don't worry about speaking english well, a lot of our members don't. Just do the best you can and we'll work with you.

Maybe the LM3914 - Dot/Bar Display Driver
