I know, we can't see it because it's not still 'visible' like the lunar orbiter. But I think the orbiter is a needle in a galactic haystack and was only found by looking very, very hard at a precise location.
We were lucky, its in a polar orbit, so we know every 80 minutes or so , it will be over the pole,
"All" we had to do was look at the pole for a few hours, and see the radar returns , and look for a signal of the required period.

A bit of FFT and cross correlation, done deal.

Excellent! Those alien invaders on the far side of the moon have less ability to wander around now that we can find things that small.:D
