Hi
I need to make an order one of two parts, but not sure which i need
please help me out if you can............
I have a LG 42LN5300 LED TV
I has sound,
no backlight,
flashlight test shows image.....
LED voltage test on Power Supply Board at LED plug, is 106 V when plugged in and turned on, 236 V when plugged into wall but not turned on....
I am not sure if i need to replace the Main Power Supply board which includes the LED driver,
Or if i need order and replace new LED lights, which is going to require more dismantling of the tv and i dont want to take it apart if i dont need to, so is changing the board good enough with those voltage readings?
please advise so i can make an order
thank you
scott

Hi warren. Bad news. You going to have to dismantle the set further. The powersupply and led driver is fine as it produces your required output. Normally in a case of no backlight. I would check each led strip individually to determine which strip has an open led. Once found i would then replace the single led on the strip to see if that was the only thing causing problems. Those leds burn out and can easily be replaced. Good luck.
