Consider a different standpoint: say what percentage of your current income you would collect if none of the calls you get is because an idiot in action? Make sure to include good-for-nothing ones. Normally their results create problems.

Part of my job as a surveyor, is inspecting damaged vessels, equipment, cargo (sometimes in events where people was injured or, eventually, died). Tell you a secret: besides what statistics say, I am personally convinced that a very high percent of things going wrong is because someone down the chain did not right or simply did not or worst, had no idea he had to do something.

Had to accept I live, not from them, but from their consequences.

Even if I see bad practice on board I do not complain in loud voice (maybe I could give a formal, brief suggestion to Master / Ch. Officer but most often nothing beyond that - unless safety of the guys is compromised).

By the way, I think that we all are "idiots" at a certain moment in life. The main difference stays i if you are aware of it or not. Just that.

Yea I caught that right away too. I was going to point that out but as being this threads subject I thought I might as well leave my comment out and see how long it would be until someone mentions it.

BTW they guy could have been a service tech or simply and employee who figured out that the receipt printer (ink style not thermal paper style) could be used to print on most anything if the bottom half was taken off and pulled along at just the right speed.

I see it differently. There is a white halo on some of the letters and they seem to be raised, as in an inflammatory reaction.

Agree. Everybody has different talents. A doctor has a very high opinion of himself, and he can do a lot of things I have no hope to do, but he still phones me to fix his otoscope.

Given the time the odds are he would have had to have had it done the next day which would have put it on the 25th or at least done very late on the 24th.

The picture got posted here on the 27th in reference to a newspaper article or or similar which itself to be put out on the 27th would have required at least a 24 hour lead time on the story and them getting the picture.

Thats a damn nice unirritated arm for someone who just got a bold black tattoo on an area of his body that has rather thin sensitive skin for a time lead of 24 - 48 hours at best from when the tattoo could have been done.

I say it's rub on or printed with a special or modified inkjet type printer at best.

The given timeline just did not add up to what the picture shows.

Even as an unusually fast healer like myself the skin all around a 1 - 2 day old tattoo should still be noticeably red and irritated. His is not.

That's why I questioned it's validity.

 

I have never been (title of the thread) to get a tattoo. I don't even know if they crust over and form scabs. You're going to have to take it from here.

 

From someone with several tattoos, that looks like a real tattoo. It looks like mine looked, the day after. Mine only stayed red/inflamed for 12hrs or so. They stayed raised and tender for a few days after. Then peeled like a sunburn.
