Still not buying it. This schematic is meant for mains, please understand I personally have almost 40 years electronics experience, and Bertus is smarter than I am. It is not just the capacitor I am talking about, but all the other resistors (some high wattage). The only reason you need these is to run this circuit off of the mains.

Then there is the voltages of the capacitors. There is also the fact the circuit is glowing, this is a sign of high voltage bleeding into a capacitance, the effect is often used to test whether a line is hot or not by electricians with neon bulb screwdrivers.

LEDs are simple devices. I assume (without knowing) you are aiming for 20ma to drive them. One resistor, one low voltage but high capacitance filter cap, and diode bridge is all you need with a transformer.

We are not idiots. Treating us as such will only loose you this resource. There are many other sites where you could have this conversation. This is not one of them.

If you want to talk about doing this and not violating TOS then start another thread.
