LED-FSO short range high rate

Hi all,

I am looking for some technical assistance with a current project I have been tasked with.

The project requires the construction of an optical link using LED. the distance of transmission is short (few centimeters). Most traditional FSO systems utilise a Laser as the light source but they are long-range and very expensive.
The end system needs to be required to transmit/receive data bi-directionally at high speeds of around 100Mbps max.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience in designing circuits that may be possible of achieving this? I have looked at IrDA products but it seems that the limit of their transceivers are 4mbps.
Any help is massively appreciated!!

To bring people up to speed and save them some, could you summarize the advice you got on other forums and why it was not satisfactory for your project?

I found this report in the internet (word)
http://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rc...23cBQogBg&sig2=QW28-a72lqjHboxGXYZYEw&cad=rja
it contains the answer to my question, it was done in 2008, I Wonder there is no recent detailed report dealing with led-fso high rate.

I found also these solutions :

1. P11379-04AT ( HAMAMATSU) : for 150 Mbps optical link transmitter photo IC
link: http://www.hamamatsu.com/jp/en/product/alpha/P/4130/P11379-04AT/index.html
I don't know if this component works for my project.

2. ISD400-7211 (Sick Sensor Intelligence) : optical link laser red and infrared, 100Mbps, Ethernet, Ethercat.
link: https://www.sick.com/fr/fr/capteurs...tique-de-donnees/isd400/isd400-7211/p/p343252
can't find the price.
