The teacher attempted to explain it to us, and failed miserably. Not one student in the class understood what he was on about. Then I sought more personal help from him, and that did not help much.

Have you studied Kirchhoff's Voltage Law and Kirchhoff's Current law in your courses already or is this an open-book test?

The AAC ebook has some good introductory material on KVL and KCL. I would recommend you study the examples in the section that I have linked to. The presentation provides a very good basic introduction to the these two important laws governing circuit behavior.

And keep in mind that Ohm's Law will be needed as well in tackling the circuit that you have been given to solve.

Take a stab at solving it and post what you accomplished and our members will try to provide you with suggestions on where your approach can be improved.

For the record, this is the first time he has shown it to us (the weekend before our PLTW final exam).
