Hello,I have a project of mine which is going to require few jumper links and since I'm running low on copper wire I was thinking of using carbon steel wire to be used as a jumper,dimension would be 3cm L x 1mm A.
So what do you think guys?

Last time I used steel wire in electrical project was when I was building a project with NE555,it didn't end up good,PSU went into protection mode.Not sure because it was from steel wire overloading the PSU or short circuit.

Do you need the jumpers to be changed often?

Don't you have any store close by you can buy some telephone cable etc? very cheap for a couple of feet/ 8 conductor single strand.

How i didn't remeber that.Got some 50-60ft of telephone cable.

 

You should get some "0-ohm resistors" which are designed to be jumpers.

 

Cant find those anywhere.

 

All I can say is, steel is hard to solder.

Thanks but I don't order from digikey. I managed to find jumpers on my distributors catalog they hid it pretty well.
