The difference between a conspiracy theory and the alternative is evidence. Where is the evidence?
To the irrational conspiracy theory believer, the lack of evidence is further proof of the existence of the conspiracy so like a paranoid delusion, the theory is self-reinforcing and perpetuating until reality forcefully intervenes to break the belief system.

The military has nothing to fear, it is the towns people that are the targets, especially cops. Remember the two nut-jobs from the Cliven Bundy militia, who went to Las Vegas and executed two cops having lunch and one person with a concealed weapon shot in the back? Soft targets.

This is a crazy time we live in. Stay strong. "Illegitimi non carborundum", or "don't let the bastards grind you down."

If cops are soft targets, then we all are.
Yup, you are right.

My son-in-law is a Metro officer in Las Vegas. The police enacted tactical protocols for officers having lunch after that incident. Still, the expectancy of normal behavior will let a shooter to get very close to a cop with a mouth full of pasta before the alarm bells go off.

We are all soft targets.

Here's the promo for the Coast to Coast AM segment I mentioned. As I previously posted, I am dubious of most of what this guy has to say on any subject, but then I prefer to consider all available sources, and reach my own conclusions. Perhaps that makes me an "open-minded skeptic."

Author and researcher Steve Quayle discussed why many people are concerned about Jade Helm 15 - a special forces training exercise scheduled to take place during nighttime hours this summer across seven southwestern and southern states. The plan is unprecedented in the history of the military, given its scope and time frame, he noted. Specific groups of citizens such as conspiracy theorists, tax protesters, militia, 2nd Amendment supporters, US veterans, constitutionalists, Christians, and survivalists have at times been categorized as terrorists, and could be targeted for disarmament in the exercise, with the state of Texas a particular focus, he indicated.

While the government has continued to deny any sinister agenda for Jade Helm, "you can't deny the YouTube videos of literally hundreds of thousands of pieces of artillery being moved and strategically positioned through the country," he remarked. Quayle asserted that this prepositioning of military and materials across the US is in anticipation of a "triggered financial event," in which the dollar crashes or credit cards won't work and people begin rioting.

He believes there's a cover-up of the approach of a Planet X-type body into our orbital plane, and according to one of his sources that by late spring of 2016, every volcano will erupt, and there'll be global pandemonium. His source further suggested that Jade Helm could be a population reduction plan in advance of the Planet X situation, in which resources will be limited. Quayle also discussed his continued research into ancient giants, and the archaeological cover-up of giant bones, as well as his new documentary film series, True Legends.

For nearly 10 years, I participated in an annual event called, "Return Of Forces To Germany" or REFORGER. The exercise involved massive movement of equipment, personnel, armament, trucks, tanks, jeeps, etc. It often involved airdrops and mock air assaults. The exercise lasted two to four weeks. At no time during these exercises did anyone think the US was actually invading Germany or Europe. And we're talking about an army making movements in a foreign place.

But I wouldn't say its American to exhibit such paranoia. This kind of exercise goes on all the time without such carrying on. In some places, the crazies have managed to acquire positions of some authority (though I cannot imagine how) and this is the result.

news shows gangs of black youth rioting and looting, a large group of viewers get the impression all blacks will behave this way for some reason.

news shows nearly bald hispanic youths with lots of tattoos and drugs being seized in a drug operation against gangs, large group of viewers get the idea that young hispanics who look this way are violent, drug smuggling criminals.

news shows a few people from a southern state with a poor vocabulary and terrible accent, large group of viewers get the idea people from the south are uneducated idiots with bad oral hygiene.

stereotype. look it up. large groups of americans are normal, everday joes. just looking to support loving families. They are just reacting to the constant, devisive stereotyping and propaganda being fed to them in large daily doses.

dont judge all of us on the crazy televised antics of a few, selected specifically because they are nutjobs.

Kermit, but it's hard not to think those things when the leading officials both local and federal in a state are saying what they are saying.

Or in other words, the people who are chosen to represent a group reflect on the people in the group who choose them.

If it doesn't seem to make sense for the state gov. to react in the way they have, then I propose we are not fully aware of all the facts.
These guys didn't rise to the top of the government here by doing 'crazy' things in such a public fashion, and then maintaining the crazy in the face of public ridicule.
Something more than we can see or have been told has been revealed to them to make them do such a thing and suffer this public backlash and ridicule.

Yes. What is your point?

Polar opposite political views between the two camps is simply that. Disparaging a political opponents character is a tactic often used when someone runs out of logical and reasoned objections to the debated points. If there are any reasoned and well thought out views to any actions taken by a politician I would gladly listen to them. I find the actions of both parties to often be self serving and counter productive to our nations welfare. When the pundits and the hacks resort to name calling and character assassination of a particular individual then I tune it out, and consider that person to be intellectually bankrupt and unable to offer a logical counter point to the given action.

Lots of good, reasoned and well thought out views have already been expressed to counter the paranoid, irrational and inflammatory statements and actions surrounding this military exercise. Those who continue to spread paranoia over this haven't provided any new information to support their actions. Therefore, I believe we know all there is to know, and that there will be people who are too irrational to try to deal with in a logical and reasoned way.

This has nothing at all to do with disparaging a political opponent's character. It really doesn't have anything to do with partisan politics. Crazy has no party affiliation. In this case, a few nutjobs decided to make a non-political, non-partisan issue into a political one. If their brand is injured as a result of their own actions, they only have theirselves to blame.
