This year couldn't end any too soon, for my tastes. It has been a rough one, both globally and personally. Of course, several of the things that have made it rough are not yet resolved, so the changing of an arbitrary number on a calendar isn't a magic elixir, but it still provides a useful and welcome mental distraction for a little bit.

And speaking of arbitrary numbers. . . . last time we had a leap-year Covid came along.

Sorry to hear you‘ve had a bad time of it. Certainly the events happening in the public sphere are bad enough but to have it exacerbated by troubles in the private sphere means no respite. I do hope you find peace in the upcoming year, and if it is possible joy as well.

Sometimes it feels like human existence is naught but suffering until we move on—but I truly believe it doesn’t need to be. While I have my share, and with six kids, four partners, and five grandkids there is always something that will cause me to worry but also surprising joy and satisfaction I really never expected.

You and many others here have been part of the good this year. While we are just acquaintances, the times when I was having trouble everyone who heard of it was ready to offer concern. AAC is actually a source of things that make a better life for me, and that’s because of each of you.

Thank you all—and may you and all of us have an ascendant 2024.

Done. :)

Seems like we just did this. Anyone knowing where a year went please let me know.

Your 2023 went like my 2024. Lost several friends and family this year and I also lost my wife of 37 years back in June. Adjusting to the widower thing.

Wishing you all a most happy and safe holiday season. Stay safe. :)

I'm truly sorry for your loss, Ron. This year I celebrated my 32nd anniversary and I cannot possibly imagine what life would be like without the love of my life. I guess the show must go on for those of us that remain.

I had my losses too you know, but I also had some wins. There's always plenty to be grateful for, all we have to do is look and be aware of the blessings that've been poured on us. Our time will eventually come, for some sooner and for others later. And it's only sensible that we make the most of it while we can.

Unfortunately time waits for no one, as the song says another year older another year closer to death. I try to enjoy life as it comes not as I wish it would be. As the old joke about the about the man falling out of a 10 story building every time he passed a floor they would hear him say so far so good. So far so good.
