I read thru the whole thread and I may have missed what the desired VOLTAGE and CURRENT outputs would be."HIGH POWER" is totally not an adequate specification. Specifications are a vital part of every design project.

 

UC3856 and it's predecessor UC3846 - reading these data sheets will help you a lot,

also slope comp for buck derived converters - for flybacks there is a lot of TI data on their website.
