Hello

I'm interested in developing my own IR controller for a R/G/Y/B Puck Light. As you have probably seen, most puck lights come with their own IR controller. I'd like to be able to buy one of these IR controlled puck lights but control it with my own IR controller.

I'll need to find out the IR communications protocol and commands for the various functions.

Any advise on how to get started? Anything available that already provides this capability? IC's?

The only way to get the information that you need is from the manufacturer (I doubt whether they will provide it!), or by analyzing the data from the controller. If you can get your hands on a controller, there is a tutorial attached that will show you how to get the codes and make your own controller using an Arduino.
