Hi have the below Integrated Circuit and am not 100% sure that I've interpreted a line drawn down one side of the chip as the side the number 1 pin starts from. I understand they are numbered anti-clockwise and are usually knotched or market in some way.

If you look at my IC (I've taken multiple pictures as my pics aren't totally clear), there is a line drawn to the left of the 2415 on all the IC's. I'm assuming that that's the polarity marker but I just wanted to check before soldering. Sorry for the poor quality pics but these things are smaller than a match head.

Pin 1 would typically be the lower left pin with the part number right reading.

Check the datasheet if in doubt.

My understanding is the indented 'bar' in the plastic body indicates reference end of the IC.

So pin #1 is as marked on this image.

Thanks for coming back.. I think it's safe to say that that is pin 1 so I agree that the bar is the marker in this case.
