In the USA, all TV Transmitters have a Horizontal-Radiation-Pattern,
(it might be different in other countries),
so the Receiving-Antenna must also have a Horizontal-Reception-Pattern.

A Vertically-Polarized-TV-Antenna will usually have very poor reception performance.

FM-Radio is Polarized both Horizontally, and Vertically, at the same time,
this is done to improve FM-Reception in Cars, which usually have Vertical-Antennas.

Vertical-Receiving-Antennas tend to
pick-up more atmospheric "noise" than a Horizontal-Receiving-Antenna.

You must have a "Resonant" Antenna for best reception.
The proper Resonance of any Antenna is heavily dependent upon
having a matching Impedance between the Receiver and the Antenna.
I have purchased a DTV antenna from Amazon. It never worked well, and got worse when I got a new TV. The instructions said to mount it on a wall or window, but with the new TV I received far fewer channels and reception was poor on the few that came in.

I tried moving the antenna, and when I laid it horizontally, reception got much better. So I left it there and re-scanned for channels. Many more channels and much better reception.

Does LowQCab’s reply explain this. Shavuot?

Without knowing exactly what antenna and the internal element type it's hard to tell. DTV reception from any antenna inside a structure filled with RF conducting surfaces and RF absorbing materials is dependent on antenna placement due to reflections and nulls. Outside in free-space is almost always much better.

TV transmit antenna types.

Digital TV is a totally different animal.
Actually, I haven't paid any attention to it,
as I haven't watched a Propaganda-Box for over 10-years.

Reception of VHF or UHF frequencies indoors is a very "Iffy" proposition at best.
An outdoor Antenna, on at least a ~20-foot Mast, is what is needed.

Higher Frequencies only work well in "Line-of-Site" situations,
were there are basically no obstacles between the Transmitter and Receiver.

Zero Social Media ever.
Vetted Websites and YouTube only ........ that is until recently when I added
a few BitChute and Rumble Channels after YouTube started "Purging" ALL
intelligent discussion of current events.
I also don't use Google because of similar "Purging" there.
I think Duck-Duck-Go works quite well instead of Google, and without all the Censorship.

I do however still use Google Maps, you should go take a look at the Capitol Building in
Washington DC, it has a notation below it ......."Temporarily Closed" ....... go see for yourself.

Television will rot your brain, it creates real live Zombies,
in collaboration with our wonderful "Education System".
