Identify transformer from electric clock for replacement...

Hi,
I picked up at rummage sale a Big Ben Moon Clock and it only works on batteries and not 120V power. I opened it up and determined there is no output from the transformer.
I am looking for a replacement but need some help first identifying it, and then best place to go to purchase new/used one.
I have attached pictures of the transformer and case in question.
My current assumption is 120V input and 3V output based on the fact it uses 2x1.5V batteries.
Any help is appreciated.
Here are pictures:

Finding such a transformer with that volage may be difficult and/or expensive.
It might be easier to use a small 4.5Vdc wallwort such as this.
The voltage will likely be okay after going through the diodes on the circuit board, but a diode or two added in series will drop the voltage further if needed.

Excellent idea using a wallwort. Thanks for the tip.
