I am trying to find info about capacitor and failing miserably, help!

What I know:
- electrolytic capacitor
- can shape
- 6.3 volts
- 220 uF
- KZG (series?)
- (M) (possibly +/- 20%)
- not really clear on the size, say 6-8mm diameter, 10-12mm height

I did find data sheet for KZG series by United Chemi-Con, but it does not list 220 uF... Help!

What's so important about it having to be the same exact capacitor? There are plenty of other caps out there from other brands with the same characteristics that you've mentioned

I am looking for ESR, impedance, ripple current info.

And yes, when I looked at digikey and mouser, I selected 6.3, 10 and 16 volt caps. So I am looking at wider field.

Oh... so you're not trying to replace it then? You're trying to find its info?
I'll see what I can find
Actually I am going replace two of them.
Ok. Funny story time.

So I bought 4 ram modules from ebay to upgrade my pc. It is Intel 975X chipset, 8 GB ram max. Turn of my pc. Open case. Insert 4 modules. I m excited and I want the magic numbers to appear so I don't close the case, just hook up monitor, keyboard, mouse and power. Push the On button... the light behind the On button comes on, but nothing else... try just one module, nothing. Try one of my old modules, that worked just fine just a few minutes ago... nothing. Finally started checking the caps (I had bad cap on another motherboard before)... found one bulging cap. Started taking out the parts so I can get mobo out of the case... took a hulking GTX 460 video card out... there is another bulging cap under it. The two bulging caps are identical. So now I am going to replace two of them. The end.

Well, that EZG series caps are stated as ultra-low ripple type, low ESR and impedance. Why not just use caps from other manufacturers with the same characteristics? Also, I'd use higher voltage caps to replace those two... there has to be a reason why they bulged out, and a higher voltage spec will protect them a bit more.

Umm... we come full circle... what is the ultra low ripple, ESR and impedance for the 220 uF cap that IS NOT listed in data sheet?

Good point. I'd look at other brands and compare their characteristics to similar values (other than the 220uf you're looking for) and see how well they match.

The datasheets for the KZG series came out in 2002 and were revised in 2003.
These only show the 800mu, as you say.

But I would not be suprised to find the range was subsequently extended.

They are not listed in the Nippon Uni-Chemi-Con list of obsolete series, but nor are they listed in the 800 page 2014-2015 current full catalog.
(at least I can't find them).

However there is a US number so why don't you call Tech Services and ask?

Alternatively if you can find an earlier full catalog , say about 2006 -2008 they may (should?) be in there.

I ordered two of these: http://www.mouser.com/Search/Produc...1virtualkey64700000virtualkey647-RHT1A221MDN1
higher temp rating
higher voltage rating
relatively low impedance
relatively high ripple current

I hope they work. I really did not plan on building/buying another pc. I can... but I don't want to.

They should work, PC's have many redundant components in their circuitry to make them more reliable. One thing you could do is add a small X7R cap (about 0.1µf) connected in parallel with each of the electrolytics. That should take care of the smaller ripples and transients.
