Do you know any snappy word associations like this for ohms law: "Very Important Rule" (V=IR)?

Rhyming poems and songs have always been a good way to learn and retain things by association.

Can you help me do the same for semiconductor theory?
There are BJTs, FETs, PNPs, NPNs, A and Ks, holes and electrons, drains, sources, gates, bases, collectors, emitters, half wave, full wave rectification, etc.
And there's: Vbe, Ib, Vce, Ie, etc
ETC ETC

Before the purists yell, I am not trying to replace real understanding with rote learning - merely trying to help my brain assimilate all this new information I am trying to understand as I teach myself electronics.

You realize you are asking engineers and scientists create poetry/lyrics to teach at a level they haven't thought about in so long, they don't remember not knowing this stuff.

Additionally, 7x8 just "is" 56. If you need a poem to remember that, the poem to learn how a transistor works will be a real challenge.

 

The symbol for an NPN transistor has the arrow Not Pointing iN
If it's the other way, the arrow is Pointing iN, Pointing.
N-channel j-fet? pointing iN.
Same with mosfets.

Then there is Roy G. Biv. The colors of the rainbow:
Black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white, gold silver.
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 5%, 10%

Maybe some sort of rap song (I hate the genre) would be best suited for what you want...

It's an analogy. Doh. Children need aids like this as they pack away the avalanche of facts that is their world. That is all.

The one about pointing in is good. I'll use that thankyou #12. The one abt the rainbow is awesome. You know what that means don't you: the inventor of the resistance colour coding based it on the rainbow colours in their optical order. That is sooooo awesome

Wow, there were several toned down words vs what my 11th grade science teacher gave us.
