I'm currently designing the electronic components that converts 300V AC to 110V DC and provides a power output of 15kW with 85% efficiency in a hybrid motor for the Formula Hybrid SAE International competition (there may be an integrated circuit that does this, but I do not know about it). These components have to be integrated into the powertrain. I also have to design the electronic components for speed control and possibly a switch control. The fuel motor and electric motor are in series. I also need to decide what sensors to use. I'm currently recruiting students for my team, but I'm having trouble beginning the project. Could anyone please provide some advice, sources, or basic information to help me get started? Also, any information about what variables I need to take into account as well as common errors and malfunctions would be very useful.
