I live in the USA and I have Xfinity for my Cable TV.

I have the next step up from the Basic TV Plan.

We have the X One Remote you can Talk into.

We have SiFi and TV Land and Discovery and all that nothing outside of the Plan.

If we go down to the Basic Plan we loss these CH. and no more DVR and no TV Land or SiFi.

If we go to Hulu Live with TV we get DVR all the CH. we have now for $ 81 so I got it for 3. Days Free.

I Loved it and I have a Roku TV so I got the App. on it.

The only thing it if you want to go to CH. 6. you have to scrall to CH. 6. and so on.

I am Legally Blind and I do not want to go up to the TV to go through the CH. to get to the CH. I want.

If I Talk into my Roku Remote it will not go to CH 6. or so on.

Can anybody help is there anyway to get this to work like this?

I did get rid of my 3. Day Free.

I know less than you and never understood why those Hulus and Rokus exist. For several years I used a dedicated laptop on ethernet input and HDMI output to receive the programming of my interest at $0 plans; but do not know your interests. Currently repurposed the laptop for something else and got a TV that has internet browser to reach what I want.
What is Ch. 6 ?

On my Roku-enabled TV, I access Hulu through the Hulu app. Ditto for History Channel, Disney+, and others. Once an app takes over your TV, it takes some control over what the remote buttons do. I suppose some of the buttons, such as the power button, still control the TV at the top level but the channel up/down button might get mapped to some function defined by the app.

You might try using your phone - running the Hulu app - as the remote and then casting it to the TV. I find this to be easier than the typical hand-held remote.

Hello,

What is ch. 6?
This is what the hulu site shows:
https://www.tvguide.com/news/hulu-channels-list/

For 83 dollars a month it is quite expensive, to my view.

In Holland I have about 65 tv stations with 100 MB internet (up and download) and 2 phone lines for 70 Euro.

For 10 Euro more I could even get a 1 GB (up and download) internet connection.

Dumb question here - how do you watch TV if you're blind? For that fact, how are you using a computer to ask this question?

On the off chance you can see enough TV to be able to watch and enjoy it - I have this comment:
I have a Samsung Smart TV with "Talk To" remote. Simply saying "Channel 6-1" or "6.1" the TV will tune directly to that channel. If I say "Channel 3552" the TV tunes to that channel.
If we go to Hulu Live
Who is "WE"? If you have someone there with you couldn't they just tune to channel 6 for you? My dad had a remote long before remote TV's were invented. It was called "Tony". And it was voice controlled. I didn't even have to be in the room to be activated.

Actually "Legally Blind" does not mean blind. By definition: Legal blindness is defined as having 20/200 vision or worse in your better eye, or a visual field of 20 degrees or less. This definition applies even with corrective lenses.

  • Visual acuity
A measurement of how well you can see straight ahead. 20/200 vision means you can see at 20 ft what someone with normal vision can see at 200 ft.
Someone who is legally blind can watch TV and actually depending on their visual acuity many can pass the vision test and drive. This is why I am not that suspicious as to trolling. As to Xfinity and how it works I have no clue.

Well, OK. My apologies to the TS for suspecting trolling.
Tony, that was just my take you may be right. I have known several people declared legally blind who had no issues with TV viewing. I thought that was strange but figured it out. On a bright side I had cataract surgery a week ago and that went great. My right eye was a blur and now it works just fine. Amazing stuff. :)
