After 10 years of excellent service, my wife's color laser printer's wifi port is acting up. Not a circuit problem, I'm asking if anyone can help, or can recommend a different forum for this type of question.

My main desktop can print with it through a wired connection to the home wireless router. That connection is rock solid. She connects wirelessly with two Apple devices, phone and pad. In the last few weeks the connection has gone from excellent to very poor. Note that both devices started having problems at the same time, so this smells like a printer issue. Also, no recent hardware or software changes to anything.

This reminds me of home wireless routers in the 90's and early 2000's, where a router would work fine for a couple of years then just got super flaky for no apparent reason.

Thanks.

My first GUESS is that a new wireless device has moved into the area and is using the same wireless channel for some other activity. If it was in my area, it was that the cable company quit being a "cable TV and internet provider" and became purely an "Internet entertainment streaming" provider. That puts reliable connections on the horribly endangered list.
OR it may just be that somebody added a wide range wireless router and it keeps attempting to access your computer/printer system.
There is nothing as good as a solidly wired connection. Certainly wireless can sometimes work and if it works immediately that is very convenient, but as for reliable???? No, not really. Just that some folks are lucky and do not realize that it is luck that can "go west" whenever it feels like it.
