Really bad ice storm, lost power , on solar battery backup. Trees crashing on houses and falling everywhere. 4 inch ice coat on everything. The cracking noises in the silent background has people on edge tonight. On my cell to save battery power for lights. Fireplace lit. Later...

No ice here but the 60-foot pine tree across the street decided to fall over at 4am and block the street. I can finally see the front of his ugly house.

10°C down here, and quite humid... perfect weather for a cup of freshly ground java...

Hope that tree didn't damage any cars

 

The good news is the power back and the ice sheet is only about 1-2 inches thick away from the drifts on the house.

Had a few close calls on houses but all the big stuff fell in yards or on the street. It's finally above freezing so it's over until next week.

It should be the end of monsoon season already. This should be the best time of year there, a little cooler and much drier.
