Here it is forest fire season with a vengeance !
Even had six US senators complaining and moaning about all the smoke comming from Canada.
Thats OK, makes up for all that Colorado-low snow I have to shovel every winter!!:p

" Six U.S. Republican representatives sent a letter to the Canadian ambassador complaining about smoke from Canadian wildfires affecting their constituents."

Unfortunately we don't always elect the brightest bulbs in the pack. I'm sure it's not much fun, but at the same time what do they want you all to do?

Whew! Tried to do some ground level finishing touches work on my antenna farm. Too dang hot!!! Only 96°F on the thermometer, but a clear, sunny, and HUMID day for a felt 107° heat index. Did I mention it is sunny with NO clouds! Had to give it up and go back to hiding inside under the AC! Even the dog doesn't want to go out in it. I just strung another end-fed multi-resonant antenna and still working on another end-fed half wave for 10, 15, 20. & 40M that I wound the toroid coil to match 50Ω impedance of the radio to 450Ω impedance for the antenna. That and some work with the NanoVNA tuning the antennas length to the center frequency of the bands. LOTs of tuning still to do so I can satisfy my picky nature.

Didn't they have a huge problem with flooding last year (or at least in a recent year), too?

On a similar note, I was talking to a cousin that has lived in Phoenix her entire life (she's mid=70s) and I mentioned the huge dust storm that made national news. The news made it sound like this was so unprecedented. She said that dust storms like that have been a part of living there her entire life and that this one wasn't any worse than most.

Few weeks ago we got a rainfall in Salt Lake City. It was the second biggest downpour since 1903. I got flooding in the basement. Lots of work cleaning that up, but got it done. Now it's just getting cold. Even the cats don't want to go out. Castor stays in his heated bed. Pollux waits till I get up and she parks herself in my warm chair. When I come back she looks at me like "What? I was here first!" My wife laughs at me because I can read emotions on the cat's faces. Midnight prefers sleeping on my lap. She always gets a good combing and petting. Gaud - to have a cat's life.
