How to use an indoor alarm siren as an activator for an outdoor alarm siren

I want to install a Honeywell Lyric alarm system with a siren and strobe outside the structure. For some reason Honeywell doesn’t support this with their Lyric controller, though they do with older models. They do make an indoor, remote, wireless siren, but it has no strobe, isn’t loud enough, and can’t be used outside. It will activate from the controller though.

With older alarms the external siren would be activated by a wireless relay, and the siren was powered by 12v DC, either through an AC adapter or a backup battery. I’m looking to turn the Honeywell indoor siren into a wireless relay to activate the outdoor siren. The original siren in the indoor unit doesn’t have to sound, and instead the signal that went to the siren would trigger the relay that would power the outdoor siren.

What are thoughts on this. I see some other posts about doing similar things, but they seem to be around using audio output signals from sound cards or PC speakers. I haven’t purchased the indoor siren yet so I haven’t measured any signals, but the entire system is a large purchase and I want to know if I can get the outdoor siren working before I spend a lot on an alarm system that won’t scare a burglar away.

It can certainly be accomplished. The choices are myriad. I'm unfamiliar with the Honeywell Lyric system or other aspects of the systems you'll be using, but the energy used to drive the indoor speaker can easily actuate a relay to trigger an outdoor alarm. I'd expect a simple rectifier and D.C. dry contact relay to be a simple solution to enable/trigger the outdoor annunciation equipment.

Thanks. I found another article that popped up about pretty much the same thing after I posted this. I think I'm going to order the system so I have the hardware here in front of me and I can get a meter on it, and then rely on some here for help as I need it. I may be so lucky that I find a simple consistent voltage coming out of some wires on activation, but it might be more complicated.
