Please don't tell us you live in hell.I live in a place where no Winter occurs.
Estes rockets: LOVED those things. My kids flew them all the time. My little girl was crying because the bigger kids could catch the rockets when they came down and she couldn't. So I set the timer and took her into the field, just the two of us. Rockets had been coming down in this area all day. But when we (my daughter and I) were out there the wind shifted and the rocket started to drift to the north. I had to scoop her up under my arm and do a 100 yard dash. We just got there in time for her to catch the rocket. She started crying all over again. So I asked "What's wrong now?" And she said "Nothing. I'm happy."
I want to use an HHO generator and a copper tube to direct the flash up the exhaust of the motor to ignite it. It's an old thought I've been having, and maybe one day just for the sheer heck of it (don't want to offend R!f@@) try and see if I can get the motor to ignite. Maybe when my grand daughters get older I can take them flying. I'll have to rebuild my launch timer control too. Had a nice one. Would count down for 30 seconds. At 5 seconds it would start beeping a car horn. The horn was connected to a car signal flasher. When the rocket was launched the timer would shut down and the horn would stop. WAY COOL. That was back in the 80's. Used to make home made bombs too. NO WAY I'm messing with that stuff today. Don't want to go to Club FED.
