I am having a little problem with my flyback transformer, there is arcing between the pins that bogs the power down from the spark . heat shrink, hot glue or tape does not work, what would be the best way to prevent arcing between these pins?
how do you find out the voltage of arc? I'm a newbie to high voltage theory so I don't know much yet. What is the voltage that is arcing? What is the separation on the pins that are arcing?
Definitely need a better photo.View attachment 128075 here it is its the pin with the heatshrink(Black pin, hv ground) and the pin to the right of the black pin is arcing, tell me if i need a better photo.
Indeed - epoxy can be a PITA to remove if it needs modification.Silicone rubber should also work.
TBH: its never been enough of a problem to bother doing anything about it.The silicone sealant from the building store is ok if you get "metal safe" foumulations for an extra few bucks. No acetic acid.
