I am having a little problem with my flyback transformer, there is arcing between the pins that bogs the power down from the spark . heat shrink, hot glue or tape does not work, what would be the best way to prevent arcing between these pins?

Silicone rubber should also work.
Indeed - epoxy can be a PITA to remove if it needs modification.

RTV is rather easier.

In theory - you're supposed to use special RTV that doesn't exude acetic acid as it cures (strong vinegar). Dow Corning is one brand I know of. In practice - I usually just get a cheap cartridge of builders silicone sealant from the DIY store.

The cheap stuff is leaky until it cures - it will "string" and bridge the gap due to electrostatic attraction.
