How to increase operational frequency to 70MHz in this Colpitts Oscillator?

Just to update for future readers that are in the same place as I did.

The problem was not the circuit itself, it was the construction.

The first problem was because I was using a breadboard to connect the components, this device is only supposed to work for like 1-10MHz max. Inside it has a lot of parasite inductance and capacitance that prohibits the circuit to increase it's frequency. I could easily measure some 20pF between the trails and almost 30nH as well.

In RF things like this are very very important, as well the distance between the components should be the minimum to avoid similar problems.

The second problem was the use of industrial inductor, don't use these for transmission, just create your own inductor and try the best to measure it.

Well, that's almost it, the circuit is very good and I was easily able to transmit above 150MHz with a BF494 (be cautious the pads of this transistor can easily trick you).

Thank you all!

First, 100 n is too much, take some 100x less ca 20 pF to 1000 pF. Secondly - 100 mkF is tragically too much and electrolytes cannot work any over few kHz range. Take the 0.1 to 0.01 mkF instead. Third, I may miss, but transistor may be faster. The goal is at least betah-fold faster or at least some 600 to 1200 MHz, whilst 847 has tiny 90 MHz. Thus, the only way to push it generate is common base circuit where voltage betah is roughly 1. Take 2N222 instead!
