You can drive all seven segments from the same decoder/driver using time multiplexing technique. Only one digit is selected at any one time.

 

You may want to try Googling "4511 mulitplex."

CD4511 -- CMOS, just need a little current itself.
74LS47 -- TTL, need more current itself.
