How to calculate "flux linkage" between a permanent magnet and a coil?

I am trying to simulate a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor and I see the term "rotor flux linkage" used and it is used as input for example simulations but do not explain how they got the value. I understand how flux linkage work in a coil at a basic level. But how does this work with an interaction between a permanent magnet and a electromagnet? How can I calculate this? all equations I have seen use ""
