I don't know what I'm doing. I have read quite a bit of stuff but I can't find any information on this. I have an old battery charger which I took out of it's plastic housing. Then i put hot and neutral wires on the circuit board after all of the rectifying components. That is all I've done so far and am wondering if anyone else has done this already. thank you.

This should be fairly easy . if it's the same as the Makita charger I have it outputs around 23V .. the battery being charged is called "18V" but it has 5 cells in series , giving a top voltage of 5 x 4.2 = 21V .... charges a 5AHr battery in 40 minutes , that's a current of around 8A , quite considerable ....

The output terminals that feed the battery should be easy to find , it's just stopping the fancy electronics from interfering ...

it's an old 9.6v battery charger so i want to run a cord from the internals of a 9.6v drill straight to the circuit board. im assuming i can separate all of the charging components from the bridge rectifier.

Unless it's capable of fast charging batteries, charging circuit components are not meant to handle the current draw of a running drill, if that's what you have in mind. I've had success in using computer or printer brick wall adapters with drills that have dead batteries. Ones with voltage and current capacity the drills need.
