Connect it to an electricity source, but which? How? It's a 4 pin open wire. It doesn't come with a power adapter...How am I supposed to connect it to an electricity source? Solder it to an adapter?

You would connect pin 1 to 24 VDC and pin 4 to ground. How to connect depends on what your doing. The loose ends could connect to a terminal block....or you could solder them.....or you could attach a plug to match a wall-wart. Does the sensor need to provide a function for something else....or just local display?

If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the link you posted in post #3 it gives the pinout and show that it requires a power supply of 24 volts DC. I suggest that you follow the links to the documentation and technical data and READ them as I am sure you will need it to understand how to use it's output.

Thanks, I see the sketch. The sensor is just display, it's not intended to work as a switch or anything like that. Does it mean I can just use the two wires and don't need the other NPN/PNP wires? I can just seal them off?
