How an MMIC input works

Hello,
I would like to understand if hypothetically a fet mounted in a circuit can be replaced by a MMIC.
Is the input of a MMIC more like the gate of a FET or the base of a transistor?

Thank you guys!

"MMIC" is a Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit", which covers a very broad realm of device types and technologies. Some are FET, some are bipolar in many different technologies.
So that question, as posted, can not be answered.

Hello sorry for delay,
yes i know some are fet and other bipolar based. What i would to know is how recognize them? For ex , Minicircuits are fet o bipolar based? Thank you!

If there is an actual model code on the device then the maker, including Minicircuits, has data sheets on line that provide all of the information. Often application information and sample circuits as well. Inspection alone seldom provides any clues at all.
