That is a Moderator or Administrator function. They obviously know about the public opinion here. You and I will provide no input. We just watch for a while and see if/when it magically appears.
True, but we can provide suggestions to what will be in the description for the sub-forum.
Myself, I am not quite sure what should and should not be included. Still letting that rattle artound in what brain I have.

My suggestion for the topic sub-header:

"Forum for discussing test equipment selection and usage; measurement techniques; measurement do's and don't's; designing your own instrumentation; and any other topics focussed primarily on test equipment and measurement."

Wow. Sounds good to me. Now I can free up some brain cells for something else. :D

p.s. I just noticed that the correct spelling is "focused" not "focussed".

I already thought so, but I'd have assumed that if a Mod/Admin had read this thread then he/she would at least post some acknowledgement so that we know that "management" is at least aware of the suggestion.

Be patient. Bones must be tossed and studied. Chicken entrails must be examined for signs. Oracles must be queried. Tea leaves must be read and planets must be observed. All these things take time.

Maybe @WBahn might be able to give us some feedback...

What, exactly, do you consider a sufficient post that would provide acknowledgement that "management" is at least aware of the suggestion?

Just wondering, since have a Moderator make the following post the same day that you started the thread:

I think it's a natural fit and a great opportunity for *ahem* senior members to pass along hard-earned lessons as they do in the other areas.
and an Admin post the following three days later:

Hello,

Did you already have a look at the T&M database on this site?
https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/test-measurement/

apparently don't qualify as any form of acknowledgement that "management" is at least aware of the suggestion.

Hello,

I have started a PM with the owner of the forum @jrap
I asked him to have a look at this thread and see if it is a valid suggestion.

I didn't see that they were Admins (I only could see the avatars on the modified Firefox I had to use for a while not the user names or account types), which I can now see since I'm back on a proper browser. Mea culpa ;)

I kept looking at it today and thinking, funny I don't remember seeing that forum section. Just a little slow on the uptake here. Now that it is said and done I can say what a wonderful idea it was. :) I remind myself of Charlotte our new puppy. She walks out in the yard and suddenly will notice if something has changed then in her puppy brain try and figure what to make of it. :)
