I have built this capacitance meter circuit using very close to the exact components.
The meter reads smaller capacitors without issue according to what I see on the LCD display. For example:
Small Cap 5000.00 pF
As soon as the PIC programming determines that the capacitor is "Large" is when the trouble begins. The LCD display indicates this by changing from "Small Cap" to "Large Cap" and "pF" to "nF". For about 6 seconds the text display looks fine but then gradually the text starts glitching. For example "Large" will change to "Largg". The longer the capacitor under test stays in the circuit the worse it gets with strange characters.
Someone suggested that the +5V is being reduced by the larger capacitor. I haven't checked yet. To rule out a discharged 9V battery I connected to a power supply set to 9.15V.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be appreciated.
