hi there, is there anybody out there who can build me a (standalone?wireless?) kazoo kind of humming windinstrument/mic that can send MIDI note data to a synthesizer. Preferably with some kind of autotune to get a straight signal. I am 75 and not good with electronics. But like to pay for your help of course. Thanks, george

PS in the sixties a patent was files for the kazoo that I am looking for, but probably never built?

There is a video
from 13 years ago about a handheld ‘karaoke kazoo’, which would do fine. However, if there is a possibility to make something more saxyness/clarinettisch that would be great.

As the kazoo will be on a neck brace it will have to be all handsfree, as both hands will play the guitar. So the DM48x or HM12 will not do, as much as I like it. Something bluetooth or even wired to a small portable device is okay.

I am a retired streetmusician, but tired of the normal kazoo sound. I have experimented a lot with acoustic variations, but now in 2025 there should be something better…I hope

Thanks, but not what I am looking for. As an (retired) streetmusician I am looking for a digital kazoo that I am wearing on a harpholder, so my hands will be free to play the guitar. No computer/labtops involved. Just the sender (kazoo) and a wireless(?) device to reproduce the saxophone/clarinet kind of sound.

pi is small and can run on battery, it can function without keyboard and monitor. based on description it can use microphone as an input and use that as control value to produce anything you like.

"In Sonic Pi, a microphone can be used for much more than just recording samples. By treating the incoming audio signal as a live synth, you can manipulate and process your voice or instrument with a wide range of real-time studio effects.

Live audio processing
One of the most powerful uses for a microphone is to process the live, incoming audio feed. Using the live_audio or synth :sound_in functions, you can route your microphone's input through Sonic Pi's effects chain. "

and there is a Zynthian OS that should make things a lot simpler.

So you want a kazoo that doesn't sound like a kazoo? And the sound the device makes has to come out of the kazoo itself (not a powered speaker somewhere nearby)? The final link in my first post must be close to what you want?
