I am really struggling with finding thevenin and norton equivilent circuits. My a level in physics covered virtually no electronics and i am having trouble understanding what appear to be some of the most basic operations at degree level due to my lack of background knowledge i was hoping someone can explain to me how to find the thevenin and norton circuits for the attatched diagram, explained in the most basic terms you possibly can with minimum jargon etc. It seems like it should be easy enough i just cant get my head around it.

In summary, for the Thevenin you find the open circuit voltage and the equivalent resistance.

For the Norton you find the short circuit current and the equivalent resistance (same resistance as Thevenin).

Open circuit means you disconnect the load and find the voltage that shows up there.
Short circuit means you replace the load with a wire and find the current in it.

Equivalent resistance, in a circuit without dependent sources, just means opening all the current sources, shorting all the voltage sources, and then combining resistors.
