Help with Laser receiver / detector

Based on previous posts, I have assumed the following requirements & conditions:
  • laser rotates at 600 RPM
  • detector bar to work at a range of 100m from the laser source
  • 30cm long detector strip
  • 4 detector strips required for 360 degree coverage
  • Detector device diameter is 5mm
  • Laser beam spreads to 15mm at 100m distance

Evaluating design requirements:
  • 600 rpm is 10 RPS, or 100mS per revolution
  • Velocity of the beam at 100m is; pi X 2 X radius / 100mS = 6,280m/S
  • This translates to 6.28mm/uS
  • So the 5mm detector is fully exposed to the 15mm wide beam for only 10mm of travel, which is 10/6.28 or 1.59uS.
  • The switching speed for the detector should be at least 10X as fast, or 150nS
  • The beam intensity will be reduced a lot by a dusty environment
  • You’ll need to have a top notch, fast, sensitive detector for this application"

Bernard do you have a solution for this or should we try common collector receivers?

no actually not now
İt was a good R&D project for years ago
There was a topcon rotating laser and a receiver called lsb44 from topcon
At those years we tried to make the the receiver with our mind but we couldn't
We tried a lot but we couldn't beat ambient light
yesterday when I was looking around at AAC I saw this topic and NewbieDog and Bernard were chatting
May be if they had a solution I would also like to know
