Hello wondered if Anyone could help, sort of blew up my protek 506 , applied to much voltage inadvertently to it , much of it still works , found A burn spot on the main switch board , cleaned that out ,best I could ,the resistance Range says 24M ohm's with test leads shorted, There is A resistor near the input terminals that I'm none to sure of , looks like 9 M Ohme's not removed it as yet though, Any idea's would be helpful

Tell us what you were doing at the time the DMM blew. What were you measuring? What range was the meter set to?
In voltage range, most DMMs have an input resistance of 10 MΩ. It would be difficult to blow out the meter.
