Faint striations might suggest fairly thick resistance wire under the glaze.

 

Also, if you can find a schematic of the welder would be good. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything like it.

Possibly not, but hope springs eternal... and in the spirit of the season, I hold out hope.

 

Best I can do with iPhoto. Still can't tell if that's 200M ±5% or 2Ω0M. For that fact I can't tell for sure WHAT it is. If the glare could be completely eliminated I still don't think we're going to get the clearest picture of it. If you have a multi-meter please check the resistance if you can.

I still see plus over minus after 200m then 5%.

Edit: The type of resistor or other seems to cool much better with the wind allowing air to flow through it. Just not sure how much power left over, it needs to give off in passive airflow. I'd like to know why it's needed in a power circuit? If that's where it's located.

 

Also, if you can find a schematic of the welder would be good. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything like it.

Next is why it burnt off or rusted, if it's a power resistor it makes sense why it came off, most likely poor solder joint after hrs of welding.

I suspect this is a bleeder resistor, so, it is a safety feature that should be in place even if the welder "works".

It powers up wire feed works but no arc

Yay. It's a 20Ω Resistor.

At a guess, it's 50W, based on appearance.

It's still good, if you can manage to reattach it to where it fell off, it should work.

no Idea how it detached I know where it fits the tangs are still in place I tried the mig it powers up but does not arc, opened side panel and found it In the bottom.
