Help Needed: Building a Circuit Board for Driving LED Chips

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to build a circuit board to drive a total of 40 LED chips. The setup will consist of 10 LEDs connected in series across 4 parallel strings. Here's the link to the specific LEDs I'm using: https://www.fruugo.se/100st-led-parlor-naturlig-vit-led-lampa....

I need to convert 220VAC to a suitable output for the LED chips. From my calculations, I believe the circuit board should provide 33VDC at a total current of 1.2A (300mA per string).

I've attached an image of a circuit sketch I found online, but I have no prior experience building circuits like this. If anyone could provide a detailed schematic or suggest improvements to the attached sketch, I’d greatly appreciate it! Ideally, I’d like to build this as cost-efficiently as possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

why parallel strings? this only increases current draw...
even with 5 strings in parallel, current is only 5x50mA = 0.25A so there is no need for the large rectifier diodes.
i would lookup ICs meant for this job but if in a pinch, something of this kind can do the job too. i would remove C2,T1,R3,Z1

The schematic is using 50mA 3.3V LEDs. (10x5)
You want to use 300mA 3.3V LEDs (10x5)
You want to use 6x more power than the power supply can do. 1.2A x 33V = about 40 watts. That is a large amount of light.
C1 needs to be 6x larger. I don't think you can afford that.
This type of power supply is very dangerous.
I don't think the circuit was designed well.

I do not like Allie but, arrange your LEDs for 120V and use this power supply at 230mA.

This type of transformer-less power supply is only used where the power level is very low. (1 or 2 watts) It cannot be used where a human can touch any parts. Three should be two layers of insulation.

If you really want this type of power supply, the cost of C1 alone is more than a LED driver from Amazon.com.
