I found another Pic of a different angle that shows RL##, my guess relay.Looks like a relay or capacitor, can you show the trackside of the PCB please..
The fuse is that glass object partly visible above the black block. The photo is a very poor image of an object to be identified, taken from the totally wrong angle. Is this a trick question?Give us a picture taken at an angle such that the big transformer is in the rear, and that black cube is showing the face that is presently facing the left in this photo. Make sure that it sows most of the left side.View attachment 197638can somewone Please tell ne what is this black thing!

The big transformer is far to large for a CD or DVD player, more the size for a full stereo receiver or a VCR.This looks like a power board from a CD player or something similar. This is likely the power relay. The small transformer to the right of the circled part (t502?) is probably the standby transformer with the larger one further on the right the main supply transformer. Q501 is likely the switch for the relay.

How did Max identify the board? The relay part number was not visible that I could see, and the number on the board was the only clue. The board is from a Panasonic SC-PM25 music center
The Relay is a OEG STD-S-106LMR
